Memento Mori Windbreaker

These limited edition jackets are a special project for us. They strike at the very core of our brand ethos. 

On the front is a closed coffin with the phrase Memento mori. This is an ancient latin phrase that roughly translates to “Remember death.” or "Remember you must die."

The phrase is believed to originate from an ancient Roman tradition in which a servant would be tasked with standing behind a victorious general as he paraded though town. As the general basked in the glory of the cheering crowds, the servant would whisper in the general’s ear: “Respice post te! Hominem te esse memento! Memento mori!” or “Look behind you! Remember that you are but a man! Remember that you will die!”

The back is an open coffin with death waiting. In one hand he holds his scythe to harvest souls, and in the other he holds the wisdom he shares. 

These jackets serve as a memento mori; a reminder that no one gets out alive.
